SYNC, SIRIUS and Safe
Ford wants to keep you safe and connected while driving

More and more drivers are demanding more and more from their cars. More than just fuel efficiency, comfort, styling and safety, they want to be able to keep in communication with friends, family and in many cases, the office or employees out in the field.

Convenience, safety and connectivity can be found in most all new Ford vehicles, allowing your car driving experience to be virtually stress-free. The SYNC® fully integrated voice-activated communications system allows for hands-free communication via cell phone and voice-activated music selection. When coupled with SIRIUS Travel Link technology, SYNC also allows you to avoid congested roads (with real-time traffic) and access to coast-to-coast weather, gas prices at some 120,000 stations across the country, your favorite sports team’s scores and schedules and movie listings and times.

On some models, Ford Work Solutions features an in-dash computer with full high-speed Internet and wireless accessories, allowing you to keep in touch with the office and/or the field crews and stay ahead of the competition.

Now, Ford increases your sense of safety with SYNC with 911 Assist. When a phone is properly paired, turned on and connected with SYNC, which happens each time the driver enters the car, the system is activated. In case of a serious accident in which airbags are deployed, the 911 Assist system will wait for 10 seconds. If not manually canceled, the system will automatically call 911. Location of the car can be determined by voice triangulation or, if the driver’s cell phone is equipped with it, the GPS location feature.

Ford’s Forward Sensing System uses sensors hidden in the front fascia and audible beeps to help drivers determine how close they are to objects (up to 1,500 feet) and can even detect objects that may be below the driver’s line of vision such as parking blocks. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) can detect any objects that may be lurking in that blind spot in your rearview mirrors.

For smooth highway driving, the Adaptive Cruise Control system lets the car maintain the selected cruising speed without using the accelerator. The system can also keep your vehicle a safe distance from the vehicle in front (up to 600 feet) and adjust the cruising speed accordingly. Working in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control is Collision Warning with Brake Support. Designed to help drivers avoid rear-end collisions, radar sensors hidden in the front of the vehicle detect slower moving traffic and warn the driver with an alarm and warning light. If the driver still fails to correct the situation, the Brake Support is activated, pre-charging the brakes to avoid a collision or lessen impact in case of a panic stop.

Add to these Ford’s ‘active’ crash avoidance technology, the most five-star National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ratings of any brand, and the fast-track innovations that Ford Motor Company is constantly developing, and Ford rises well above the rest in safety and creature comforts for its consumers.

Drive one – safely!
