WHAT'S NEW IN 7.5?
Version 7.5 is the first release in our revised product update cycle which will include two releases per year--one before spring break and one before winter break--to enable you to better plan for and schedule the downloads.
Expanded searching, enhanced circulation and more flexible reporting are the focus of Destiny 7.5. Plus, you can learn more about the new Follett Panther wireless scanner now available for Destiny. As part of this release, we've also included some of the best-of-breed features found in Sagebrush products. Below is a quick peek at a few of the new features for Library Manager v7.5:
Configure Default Search Tab & Display Order
Based on access levels, you can configure the default search by type of user (for example, choose Visual Search as the default for younger patrons and Power Search for teachers) and select the order in which the tabs display. Configuring the default search can help ensure younger users use the most appropriate search method for their age.
“Call Number” or “Relevance” Search Order Preference
Each school can choose to set the default sort order for search results by “Relevance” or “Call Number.” Relevance will provide more accurate search results based on a search term; Call Number sorting can be implemented as a simple method for teaching younger students how to locate materials on the shelves.
Used Barcode Range Report
Destiny v7.5 has enhanced the report that sites can run to show used barcode ranges. This is helpful when barcoding new materials.
Browseable Patron List
When searching for patrons at Check Out, Destiny now provides the ability to browse the patron list when no matches are found. In addition, leaving the search box blank and clicking on "Find Patron" will bring up the patron list.

NOTE TO TECHNICAL STAFF
- Follett's Pre-Check Application checks to ensure your system is ready to update to Destiny 7.5. This utility must be run before you can install the update. Find the utility on the Follett Software web site.
- After the Pre-Check Application has run successfully, a link is provided to the Destiny 7.5 download page.
- Destiny 7.0, the current release, must be installed on your system before you can download version 7.5. Visit our Software Updates page to access previous download versions of Destiny or contact Technical Support at 800-722-7424 if you have questions.
- A current technical support agreement is required to access the 7.5 download. Contact Follett's Customer Service department at 800-323-3397 for support agreement renewal information.
- Beginning May 18, 2007, you may access pre-recorded, web-based training for the new Destiny 7.5 features on the Follett Software web site training page.
