Aug. 1-3: Financial Management Professionals’ Conference – San Francisco
Hosted by the Local Initiatives Support Corp., during the opening plenary, panelists will share their views on how to assess an organization’s financial fitness for the long haul. Participants will also have an opportunity to enlist expert advice on specific financial challenges during roundtable discussions on the last day of the convening. Workshops will address various issues such as strategic planning, real estate accounting, managing pre-development risk and more.

Aug. 8-9: California Redevelopment Association Legal Issues Symposium – San Jose
The California Redevelopment Association (CRA) Legal Issues Symposium will be held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. The symposium will discuss legal issues associated with redevelopment and the latest information on reform initiatives, legislation, recent court decisions and other items of note in the practice of redevelopment.
Cost of the two-day event is $470 for members and $630 for non-members, when pre-registering. On-site registration costs are $50 higher. Registration includes course materials, refreshments and lunch on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

Aug. 22: Redevelopment Accounting 101 Workshop – Anaheim
This workshop will focus on redevelopment accounting fundamentals. Attendees will cover the ins and outs of a redevelopment agency, covering its formation, establishment of indebtedness, receipt of tax increment, low- and moderate-income housing set-aside and bonding.

Aug. 23: Financial Reporting Workshop – Anaheim
To be held at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort, the Financial Reporting Workshop will provide detailed guidance on how to prepare the detailed reports redevelopment agencies are required to submit to the State Controller’s Office each year.
