F.C.C.C. Receives $9 Million Grant
To Create 15 Early College High Schools
The Foundation for California Community Colleges (F.C.C.C.)—the developer and manager of the collegebuys.org purchasing program—has received a $9 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The funding is for a five year program to develop 15 Early College High Schools at California community colleges. "Many of the students we will reach in these schools might not have graduated from high school, let alone considered going to college," said Larry Toy, president of F.C.C.C. "By linking high school and college, we will expose them to the excitement and promise of higher education." For more information see www.foundationccc.org.
