Questia’s library contains scholarly books and journals, magazines and newspaper articles relevant to high school and college general studies. 31 of the finest liberal arts college libraries in the United States were surveyed to establish a core collection. Using tools of the American Library Association, a team of professional librarians expanded the collection to provide sufficient depth and scope of historic and current information. As the library continues to grow, individuals using Questia will receive access to new titles as they come online. No upgrades or downloads are ever required.

“It is fantastic to be able to hunt for my topic so easily through so many books so quickly.” – Professor Littleton, Colorado July 27, 2003

Questia’s library also contains an individual workspace with a host of research tools, reference books (dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia) and personal filing cabinet. Students and teachers can access, collect and manipulate information in a variety of ways. All titles can be annotated and highlighted. All information gathered is kept in individual project files in each user’s workspace. None of this information takes up space on a personal computer. Rather, it is stored on the Questia secure servers and protected by individual usernames and passwords.

“I am a college student who is taking English (my worst subject) and this site makes it so much easier! I love the highlight, bookmark, and note features! This is my [site] for all my English papers! It even makes the bibliography easier! It has all the info. Right there!” – Undergraduate Student July 25, 2003

Faculty are finding Questia an effective tool when developing course reading lists. Including Questia as a primary resource in a syllabus saves time, insures access and diminishes the need for copying portions of books, journals, magazines and newspaper articles for distribution. Faculty can choose to effectively communicate assignments electronically through email with Questia. Assignments can be hyper-linked into Questia’s collection.

"I LOVE this site. Questia is awesome!!! I can't tell you how great this [is]...from citing a passage to bibliography help to the articles/books! You have certainly helped me get through my summer school English class. Thanks SO much and keep up the good work!” – Undergraduate Student Durham Tech Community College Durham, North Carolina July 21, 2003

Students find Questia an economical resource that serves the needs of not just one class, but many courses. Having access to scholarly information when the student has the time to study is a major factor of good time management. The assurance of access to information frees up time for critical thinking and synthesis. Questia students say their work improves dramatically.

“So much to learn. I would like to read it all. I love it and feel I spent my money wisely here.” – Leisure User Bakersfield, California July 14, 2003
