Fifteen Experts Named ePhilanthropy Master Trainers (ePMT)

            The ePhilanthropy Foundation has named 15 fundraising professionals to join its program of online experts as new and renewing Master Trainers. ePhilanthropy is the global leader in providing training for nonprofit organizations for the ethical and efficient use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes through education and advocacy.

 

Master Trainers are chosen for their expertise in online philanthropy strategy and techniques and for their ability to effectively train others. To receive the designation, applicants must have at least three years experience in the use of the Internet for fundraising and five years in philanthropy. Applicants must also submit documentation showing they are able to educate others, this information is then reviewed by the ePhilanthropy Master Trainer Review Board, Chaired by Kristina Carlson, President of FundraisingINFO.com, which makes decisions regarding ePMT designation.

 

“The Internet is playing a greater role in every aspect of our lives, including philanthropy,” said Ted Hart, President and CEO of ePhilanthropy Foundation. “More and more nonprofit organizations are looking for practical information and training that’s based on true experience.”

AOL Training Academy Comes to East St. Louis
Specialized Training Program for Nonprofits

The AOL Academy provides online training and technical assistance geared towards building the capacity of nonprofit organizations that are located in and/or serve the East St. Louis area; made possible by the support of the ePhilanthropy Foundation and Network for Good. If your nonprofit is located in and/or serves the East St. Louis region, please join us for a free luncheon on June 21st as the ePhilanthropy Foundation and Network for Good officially launch the AOL Academy

The luncheon/launch event will allow nonprofit organizations that are located in or serve East St. Louis to learn how the Academy will benefit them. 

 

Additionally, there will be an evening cocktail reception, providing another opportunity for people to network with area partners and organizations to discuss goals of the Academy. There is no charge to attend either event.

IRS Issues Good Goverance Practices Discussion Draft

The IRS released a Good Governance Practices Discussion Draft for charitable organizations.  Included in the draft are nine recommendations to help ensure that directors understand their roles and responsibilities and actively promote good governance practices:

  1. Mission statement
  2. Code of ethics and whistleblower policies
  3. Due diligence (consistent with duty of care)
  4. Duty of loyalty
  5. Transparency
  6. Fundraising policy
  7. Financial audits
  8. Compensation practices
  9. Document retention policy
