Attention USA Charities: File Your 990 Online
Free online service launched for filing 990s
http://efile.form990.org/

The National Center for Charitable Statistics, a program of the Urban Institute's Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy, launched "990-Online" to provide easier, more accurate filing for tax-exempt groups.

The site provides links to IRS instructions and tips from accountants who work with nonprofits, automatic calculations and will verify the accuracy of the return.

More than 450,000 nonprofits filed paper 990 returns last year. The IRS is requiring that certain tax-exempt groups file electronically beginning in 2006.
