In Search Of Trustee Candidates
The Foundation's Governance Committee is looking for a few outstanding candidates interested in serving on the ePhilanthropy Foundation Board of Trustees
The ePhilanthropy Foundation's Governance Committee announces that it will accept nominations for individuals to serve on the Foundation's Board of Trustees. All those involved with ePhilanthropy from around the world are invited to submit names for consideration. Self-nomination is permitted. Submissions for consideration must be received by the close of business (5 PM Eastern USA) on Thursday June 1, 2006. The ePhilanthropy Foundation is particularly interested in those exhibiting a degree of involvement in the nonprofit and ePhilanthropy communities. All candidates are welcome to self-nominate, or be nominated by someone else.
In principle and practice, the Foundation values and seeks a diverse population. There are no barriers to full participation in the organisation on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, physical ability, and socio-economic status. All Board members shall be selected with due consideration to diversity. To assist us in assuring that diversity, please indicate if you are a member of an underrepresented group, as stated above. The Governance Committee takes into consideration factors including, but not limited to: geographic location, staff position or consultant, type and size of employing organisation, as well as those with skills that complement those current serving on the Board. The Committee is requesting the following information on those individuals brought forth: a) name and contact information, b) a current vitae, c) a letter of intent and/or statements from the individual outlining the reasons for wanting to serve and outlining what he or she can contribute to the organisation, and,
Following receipt of this information, additional documents will be forwarded outlining details and policies that the candidate will need to complete prior to the nomination moving forward to the committee. These include a candidate data form and a statement of the candidate’s willingness to serve on the Board, if nominated and selected. A regular term for ePhilanthropy Foundation Board of Trustee members is three (3) years. The Foundation holds four face-to-face meetings a year (typically in March, June, September and December) and several conference calls. ePhilantrhopy Foundation does not pay for travel expenses to attend Board meetings. The Committee will review submissions and suggestions in June and early September. The Committee uses a matrix of skills held by current board members to assist with identifying complementary skills and abilities. A slate of well-qualified and screened nominees is then selected and submitted for acceptance by the full Board of Trustees in September. Any questions about trustee service or the Governance Committee process should be directed to the President and CEO, Ted Hart at +1 877-536-1245 x 5 or tedhart@ephilanthropy.org. The deadline for receipt of information on potential candidates is close of business on June 1 2006. Please forward all the necessary information to: candidates@ephilanthropy.org. The current Board consists of:
