So far, so good for online retailers this holiday season.
A new survey found that 67 percent of Web-based retailers are optimistic about this year's holiday season -- up from 60 percent last year.
The Shop.org/BizRate.com "Holiday Mood" survey also found out why these retailers are so merry. According to the survey, 62 percent of online retailers have experienced 25 percent higher revenues than last year at this time. And about 25 percent have experienced more than 80 percent growth.
The survey was based on the two-week buying period between Nov. 2 and Nov. 15 and includes data from 90 Internet retailers.
Much of the boost is attributed to Web-savvy consumers. The survey found that 31 percent of consumers are planning to spend more online this year and 45 percent plan to do a higher percentage of their shopping online than last year.
