Grant Writer
New Directions, Inc., a residential substance abuse treatment program for homeless veterans, seeks a grant writer to access corporate and foundation funds. Our mission is to empower veterans and facilitate their successful return to families and society. We offer substance abuse treatment, job training, and housing placement.
The position is full time with an annual salary of $44,000, health insurance and a 403b.
As our corporate and foundation grant writer, you would be responsible for the following:
Researches, organizes and writes grant proposals for corporate and private foundations.
Conducts research related to organization programs and funder issues; coordinates production and submission of grant proposals.
· Researches possible grant opportunities for corporate and private foundations for our target population
· Assists in the analysis of all RFPs to determine cost effectiveness and value to the organization
· Prepares and submits proposals on all approved RFPs
· Upon award of the grant, provides Grant Manager with all information regarding reporting and renewal
· Participates as key member of Development Department
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters degree or 5 years experience in corporate, private foundations and government grant writing
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
· Excellent computer skills, including MSWord, Excel and online research
