Ground Breaking Internet Survey Collecting Data Until April 25
The next edition of the Giving USA report is scheduled for release June 2002. This authoritative report on American giving trends has been issued annually since 1955 by the AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy.
This report will not only chart the effect on charitable giving in the U.S. as a result of the September 11 attacks and the recession of 2001 but will for the first time report on the growing use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes known as ePhilanthropy.
In a recent interview on Charity Channel Leo Arnoult, chair of AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy and President of Arnoult & Associates Inc (Memphis based fundraising consulting firm) predicted a coming tsunami style wave of growth coming in the use of the Internet by nonprofit organizations. That interview can be found at: http://charitychannel.com/weinterview/archive/010.htm
In partnership with the ePhilanthropy Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington DC, dedicated to fostering the ethical use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes, the AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy and Giving USA Report are asking all nonprofits in the United States who are currently using the Internet for charitable purposes to help in the data collection needed for this report.
Nonprofits are asked to participate in this ground-breaking survey BEFORE APRIL 25 regarding their use of the Internet in 2000 and 2001.
The survey can be found at: http://www.ephilanthropyfoundation.org/survey_intro
Selected results will be reported in Giving USA 2002 and in future releases from the AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy.
