You can greet new subscribers with a welcome message

A great way to welcome a new subscriber to your newsletter is to send them an email the moment they subscribe. This message can confirm that their subscription request has been received and completed. It can also provide an opportunity to provide special offers or promotions - or recommend additional newsletters. For example, we use the Welcome Message feature on our own newsletter. Whenever someone subscribes we provide a link to a free white paper and remind our prospective customers about the 30-day free trial.

To configure a Welcome Message for your account, go to the Layout Editor and click the EDIT button above the Subscribe Box element. Towards the bottom left of the Subscribe Box properties, you will see the Welcome Message setting (see below). To turn on the Welcome Message, select one of the items from the list. You can use a Default Plain Text Message (which can be changed by clicking the Edit button), any text file you upload, or you can even deliver a particular issue of your newsletter.

Welcome Message: When someone subscribes to your newsletter you can have the system automatically send them an email message. To do this, select the Issue or File that you would like to send from the list below.

NOTE: If you choose to send an Issue of your newsletter, make sure that Issue has been posted to the Web and sent via email at least once. The message you send will use the format specified in the most recent mailing of that Issue:
SUBJECT LINE: Specify the subject line used for the welcome email.
