Though its related in name to its older brother, the 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe drives like nothing else out there. A bit smaller, lower and lighter, it handles with verve. Sleek and perfectly proportioned, the Altima Coupe projects fashion and individuality. Young go-getters will find the Altima Coupe is the way to go!
The 2009 Altima Coupe takes the best qualities of the Altima Sedan and hones them into a coupe of a different color. While the dimensional differences are there, it’s the new, sportier personality that shines through.
It’s true! The aggressive exterior styling of the new Coupe is its main differentiator. Seven inches shorter and 2.5 inches lower than sedan, the coupe features a much more athletic stance and profile. Though the hood remains similar, the coupe features striking and pointed lines, as well as a powerful back end highlighted by unique tail lamps and dual chrome exhaust.
The 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe features two unique and equally impressive engines: a 3.5-liter V6 and a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder. The Coupe's 3.5 V6 achieves 270 hp and 258 lb/ft of torque, while the 2.5 4-cylinder generates 175 hp and 180 lb/ft of torque. Each is offered with either a six-speed manual transmission or Nissan’s advanced smooth and quick-shifting Xtronic CVT™ (Continuously Variable Transmission).
An advanced and specially-tuned rear multi-link independent suspension and stabilizer bars in the front and rear ensure smoother, more precise handling. Integrated power rack-and-pinion steering and large four-wheel antilock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) give the coupe exceptional responsiveness and stopping power.
The Coupe’s driver-oriented cockpit and unique styling differentiate it strongly from the sedan. With innovative storage options, the dash and center stack are both well placed and intuitively designed. The Coupe's bolstered sport-style seats are built for comfort and performance, while folding rear seats enhance versatility. Altima Coupes also have a parking brake hand lever versus the foot-release in Altima Sedans with CVT.
The 2009 Altima Coupe is available in two well-equipped models: 2.5 S and 3.5 SE, each with either the CVT or the 6-speed manual transmission. The base 2.5 S model is priced from $21,750 (MSRP).
Depending on model, an optional Convenience Package features 16-inch aluminum-alloys, a power moonroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated leather seats with elegant wood-grain trim, a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system with XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and much more.
Standard amenities include Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, an AM/FM/CD sound system with six speakers, air conditioning, an in-cabin microfilter, power locks, power windows with driver and front passenger one-touch auto up/down and remote keyless entry.
