Founded in 2001, the BioBus Educational Programs (http://ctbiobus.org) include teacher training and development and curriculum design as well as two flagship bioscience experience programs, Connecticut's BioBus and BioConnection. Since its inception, the BioBus Educational Programs have trained more than 600 teachers through professional development workshops and reached more than 52,000 students at over 300 schools.
The BioBus is a mobile lifescience laboratory. BioConnection is an equipment loan program that enables teachers all over Connecticut to bring sophisticated biotechnology to their classrooms.
BioBus Educational Programs is a subsidiary of Connecticut United for Research Excellence (CURE), the state bioscience organization, and relies on state support, CURE members and other Connecticut businesses for funding.
