We have instituted some unique things to make MassWIT different from other events in New England. For example, our structured networking activities are a hit with the members and allow them to meet new people under fun circumstances. For 2002-2003 MassWIT meetings will be held at Sun Microsystems' Burlington campus.
Programming for the first half of 2002 was a huge success and we are well into planning for this fall – please book your calendars for the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
MassWIT is looking for someone who is interested in chairing the Events Committee for the 2002-2003 year. Gwyn will continue on MassWIT's Executive Team and will be available for the incoming Events Chair when needed. If you have an events background and would like to become more involved in the Events Committee or have suggestions for programming contact Gwyn Thakur, MassWIT Executive Team, gwynthakur@effectivemarketinginc.com
Sponsorship
We have signed on several new sponsors for the fall, among them Sun Microsystems, our event sponsor, and Le Bistro of Revere, a fabulous Italian restaurant, as our food and beverage sponsor for our October meeting. The Sponsorship team is seeking sponsors each month to provide refreshments at each meeting. You may remember we had pot luck events last year but that is a thing of the past! Many companies who have expressed interest in supporting MassWIT and now we are building the team who can work with those companies and create sponsorship opportunities that held those companies achieve their marketing objectives. If you would like to be part of this dynamic group, contact Suzanne Zellner at szellner@attbi.com
Alliances
The Partnerships and Alliances sub-committee establishes, nurtures, and maintains relationships with other organizations that offer opportunities and/or resources to advance the careers and personal lives of Massachusetts-based women in technology. Program chairmen Linda Budiman, Shalini Datta, Jagathi Gurujuan, and Karen O'Brien have been leading the charge. This spring and last fall we co-sponsored several events, including Technet and Women for Hire. Between these events, we identified aditional potential partners and attracted hundreds of new MassWIT members while providing current members with opportunities to network with prospective employers.
We are also working with Springboard, an entrepreneurial organization. Future plans may include alliances with organizations that address special interests within the technology industries and career development programs for women.
You can help accelerate our growth by identifying a potential partner organization and managing that relationship. Please let us know if you would like to be more involved in Alliances and Partnerships. szellner@attbi.com.com
