Thanks to 3D modeling, we can not only get a three dimensional perspective of what our parts are going to look like, but we can import them into a full scale machine assembly with the simple click of a mouse. Now, Encoder Products Company is taking this technology to the next level with a 3D Model Builder application, available through 3D Content Central. 3D Content Central is a host provider of web pages for engineers of 3D drawings of all different mechanical assembly products. They have many pages of components such as valves, motors, conveyors, etc. The benefit of having a home page with 3D Content Central is that an engineer has the ability to import our encoder, and other assembly components, easily into a complete 3D system.
With this new model builder, you can create your own encoder and view it in 3D. Simply select the encoder model that fits your assembly, choose the electrical and mechanical features you need, such as mounting options, shaft bore size, resolution, and electrical connection from the easy to navigate drop down menus, and the application will generate a 3D model of your encoder and corresponding part number.

You can view the encoder from virtually any viewing angle using the on-line viewer, and once you're satisfied with your selection, you can even request a quote for the encoder on-line. |
Your 3D model can also be saved and imported into your assembly drawings for reference. Need to change the connector or mount? It's simply a matter of selecting another option from the pull down menu, and regenerating a new drawing. Don't have SolidWorks®? Don't worry, this program works for many popular CAD applications. These include AutoCad®, CadKey®, Pro/E®, Inventor®, or common image formats such as jpeg, tiff, or pdf. You can also save your encoder model as a 2D drawing if you prefer.
Links will be provided from www.encoder.com into the 3D Content Central Encoder Products Web Home Page. We have started with a sampling of encoders with additional models following. Please inquire with Customer Service if you do not see the model that you are interested in. Being able to import a three dimensional model of our encoder directly into your assembly drawing will save you time and effort in getting the proper encoder perfectly placed into your system.
