Your
knowledge and experience as a fundraising professional on the front line of
philanthropy is needed! The CFRE
examination is one of the critical components of the certification
process. It takes a wide variety of
fundraising professionals to develop a valid and reliable examination that is a
true reflection of the work done in the field.
CFRE
International relies on current Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
certificants to lend their expertise and insight to the test development
process. We call these valuable
volunteers Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
SMEs
are relied upon for their familiarity with the “how-to” of fundraising. CFRE International trains these talented
individuals to write test questions for potential inclusion on the exam.
CFRE
International will be holding training sessions in 2006 for a new group of
Subject Matter Experts. The role of
members of the Subject Matter Expert Corps is to:
- Write a minimum of (15)
test questions for potential inclusion on the CFRE exam twice a year
- Read, review and recommend fundraising texts for inclusion on
the CFRE Resource Reading List
Applicants must
make a minimum of a two (2) year commitment to serve and must agree to attend a
two-day face-to-face meeting.
The first of
these training sessions in 2006 will take place on:
- 5 – 6 May 2006 in Boston, MA.
- 16 – 17 June 2006 in
Los Angeles, CA
CFRE certificants
who are interested in participating should send a resume and a statement
regarding your experience and reasons for wanting to serve to: CFRE Exam Committee; CFRE International;
4900 Seminary Road, Suite 670 Alexandria, VA
22311 or via fax to +1 703.820.1107 or mhirt@cfre.org by
15 March
2006.
The Exam Committee will make selections in late March. Subject Matter Experts are chosen with a
mind toward building a diverse group representative of the certificant
population. Individuals with experience
in the following areas are of particular interest:
- Education or teaching / training
- Prospect identification
- Marketing
- Communications
- Arts or human service organizations
