2019 Subaru Outback is a crossover you can count on

If you’re looking for a dependable, rugged crossover, the 2019 Subaru Outback is equipped with everything you need. The Outback’s tough engine and nimble performance will take you wherever you want to go, and its up-to-date technology will keep you safe and connected on the way.

Powertrain

The 2019 Subaru Outback is built for reliable performance, starting with its durable 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder engine. Paired with a Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission, this engine puts out 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque and can achieve 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.* If you want even more power, the Outback also offers an available 3.6-liter SUBARU BOXER® six-cylinder engine that delivers 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. This engine gets 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.*

Handling

The 2019 Subaru Outback is built for sure-footed handling in a wide range of conditions. Its Lineartronic® CVT comes with Hill Holder® and Incline Start Assist features for hilly conditions, along with a six-speed paddle-shifter manual mode for added control. The Outback is also equipped with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, which provides exceptional grip and stability, and X-MODE, which optimizes traction on slick surfaces. If you’re driving over rough surfaces, the Outback’s 8.7 inches of ground clearance will get you where you need to go safely and easily.

Cargo and passenger space

Hauling cargo is easy with the 2019 Subaru Outback. The exterior includes standard roof rails with integrated crossbars that fold away when not in use to maximize fuel efficiency. Inside, the Outback provides up to 73.3 cubic feet of cargo space when the 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks are down. To help manage cargo, the Outback offers available underfloor storage, a removable cargo-area tray and four tie-down hooks. An available power rear liftgate makes loading and unloading the Outback a breeze.

Infotainment technology

The 2019 Subaru Outback’s infotainment features will keep you informed and connected on the go. The standard SUBARU STARLINK® system includes a 6.5-inch LCD touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Pandora®, Bluetooth® audio streaming and hands-free phone technology. Dual front USB ports and an auxiliary jack make it easy to connect multiple devices. On higher trims, the infotainment system can be upgraded with an 8-inch screen, navigation and useful features like SiriusXM® All Access Radio and Travel Link®.

Safety technology

New for 2019, the Subaru Outback provides EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology as standard on all trims. This suite of features uses a dual-camera system to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings and activate Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist with Sway Warning, Pre-Collision Braking and Pre-Collision Throttle Management. In addition to this standard system, the Outback also offers available active safety features like Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Reverse Automatic Braking.

With the 2019 Subaru Outback, you’ll get efficient and agile handling, outstanding standard safety technology and plenty of space to load with cargo. Whether you’re commuting through the snow, stocking up at the grocery store or setting out on a cross-country adventure, the Outback makes for a reliable companion.
