The 2019 Kia Sportage Is Ready for the Road
The compact sport utility vehicle built for your comfort

It’s no secret that the crossover and SUV segments are getting more crowded with each passing model year. The Kia Sportage has been in production since 1993, so you know the 2019 edition has the engineering and experience to back up each design choice. Some of its features most applauded by reviewers include its engine and luxury interior.

Ready to go

It’s all well and good for an SUV to look good, but arguably the most important component of a vehicle is the engine under the hood. When it comes to the 2019 Sportage, there are two options: a 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder or a 2.0-liter turbocharged DOHC four-cylinder. Both engines utilize gasoline direct injection and dual continuously variable valve timing for increased performance. The larger 2.4-liter engine, standard on the LX and EX trims, is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic® to achieve 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The top trim level, the SX Turbo, gets the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine partnered with the same six-speed transmission for 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque in the front-wheel drive configuration.

If you routinely face difficult driving conditions, the 2019 Kia Sportage has you covered. All trim levels come standard with FWD, but you can upgrade to available Dynamax All-Wheel Drive for increased control on the roads.

Comfortable for miles ahead

Inside the 2019 Kia Sportage is a comfortable cabin you would expect from luxury brands. It comes standard with multiple storage options, including under-rear-cargo-floor storage and seat back pockets. The basic trim is available with tricot cloth seats with YES Essentials® fabric treatment to make cleanup a breeze. If your crew craves the finer things in life, consider the Sportage’s available leather seat trim, heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats.

Besides the plush seating, the list of 2019 Kia Sportage interior features include an available UVO system with 8-inch touch screen and voice-command navigation. Harman/Kardon® premium surround sound with Clari-Fi and eight speakers ensures that you hear your music as the performers intended, and Bluetooth® wireless technology keeps your devices connected to the SUV so you can access your favorite features with ease.

If you think the 2019 Kia Sportage is for you, take it for a test drive. Experiencing this compact SUV is much better than simply talking about it.
