Most-Wanted Holiday Gifts of 2017
Tiny monkey may be biggest in-demand toy for 2017

Every year one gift stands out from the crowded marketplace and lands on every kid’s wish list. In the past, toys like Cabbage Patch Dolls, Hatchimals or the newest gaming system have quickly flown off the shelves prior to gift-giving day, which causes a frenzy for parents and grandparents eager to secure the year’s most wanted toy for their little ones.

To get a jump on the retail battles, review the following list of the anticipated most-wanted gifts of 2017.

Cute critters

Hatchimals, an animal or magical creature, that “hatches” from an egg and is then “raised” by its owner (your kid), captivated the tiny hearts of many in 2016 and, according to Time Money writer Martha C. White, Hatchimals will still be a most-wanted toy this year. But the field for animatronic critters is welcoming a new player—Fingerlings, which are tiny robot monkeys that attach to your finger and seemingly transform into a moving and responsive critter. According to White, these “adorable little robot monkey pets” are now resting comfortably at the top of toy lists recorded at Amazon and Walmart.

According to the Fingerlings manufacturer WowWee, Bella, Sophie, Finn, Boris, Mia and Zoe comprise the original six Fingerlings. Playsets such as Monkey Bars & Swing, See-Saw and Jungle Gym are also available for your new Fingerlings addition.

Toys rounding out the Walmart.com collectible and interactive list of most-wanted gifts (after Hatchimals and Fingerlings) include Num Noms Nail Polish Maker, littleBits Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit, FurReal Friends Roarin’ Tyler the Playful Tiger, Fisher-Price Zoom ‘n Crawl Monster, Barbie DreamHorse and Doll, L.O.L. Surprise Fizz Factory, Mayka Toy Block Tape and Soggy Doggy Board Game.

As seen on little and big screens

According to Walmart.com, you can’t go wrong with a toy inspired by your child’s favorite television or movie characters and, according to the retail giant, toys like Paw Patrol My Size Lookout Tower, Imaginext DC Super Friends Batman BatBot Xtreme, Mickey and the Roadster Racers Transforming Hot Rod Mickey, Disney/Pixar Cars 3 Ultimate Florida Speedway and Disney Junior Doc McStuffins Baby All in One Nursery will be kid-favorite gifts this holiday season.

Make way

Since most kids who are getting toys at Christmas are too young for their own set of wheels, they are eager for gifts that either propel them or encourage them to run. According to Walmart.com, the Huffy Electric Green Machine Trike and Walmart-exclusive Frozen Sleigh will be in high demand this holiday season while toys that stimulate even more outside play such as Nerf Rival Nemesis MXV11-10K, RECOIL Starter Set, New Bright Radio Control Tumblebee, Dusty the Super Duper Garbage Truck and Walmart-exclusive toys such as Adventure Force Light Command Light-Up Motorized Blaster, Monster Jam Grave Digger, VTech Pop-a-Balls Drop and Pop Ball Pit and Radio Control DashCam will be popular choices.

The 2017 holiday season is rapidly approaching; now is the time to add these toy expert-suggested in-demand gift ideas to your shopping list.
