Considering the weather we’ve been having, it’s hard to believe it’s the middle of May.
You and I know how annoying it is to shovel the driveway or cover the flowers when Memorial Day weekend is supposed to be right around the corner. But for those we serve at Springs Rescue Mission, these unexpected cold days are more than a downer—they’re life-threatening.
Year-round Shelter Hits New Record
Springs Rescue Mission now has a year-round shelter that provides shelter for more than 250 people every night. In fact, this past Saturday, we sheltered 325 neighbors in need, a new record for the Mission. This only highlights for me and my staff the importance of keeping the shelter open year-round. Our new Resource Center is open every day so people can escape the weather, meet a case manager, and take a dignity-restoring shower.
But snow in the middle of May? Just comes to show how much we need your year-round support at Springs Rescue Mission to keep those we serve safe and warm all year long.
Double Your Gift Today!
And right now, your gift will go twice as far! (https://donate.springsrescuemission.org/may-matching-challenge) A compassionate friend of the Mission has offered us a $25,000 gift, and they’re challenging you and other caring people in our community to match this amount by May 31st. That means your gift will be doubled to provide twice as many meals, shelter and hope for a neighbor in need.
Homelessness doesn’t take a break, and without your support throughout the year, the Mission isn’t able to meet the year-round needs of our community.
So please, give today! (https://donate.springsrescuemission.org/may-matching-challenge)
The unexpected cold weather increased the need for safety and warmth among those we serve. But thankfully, your gift before May 31st will go twice as far (https://donate.springsrescuemission.org/may-matching-challenge) and touch twice as many lives to help us meet this great need.
