It seems that every month the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica earns another big award; the trend continues with additional honors bestowed on it by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as well as a segment win from Car and Driver.
The 2017 Pacifica recently earned a spot on Car and Driver’s first-ever “10Best Trucks and SUVs” list, topping the segment. It was also the only minivan to be given the highest rating of “Top Safety Pick+” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey were both absent from the list IIHS altogether. Furthering the Pacifica’s case, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Pacifica its highest score of 5-Stars Overall.
“With more than 100 available safety and security features, everything from Forward Collision Warning to a 360-degree Surround View Camera to the ability to parallel park itself, the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is designed and built to check the box on key attributes many families value above all others—safety and security,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands—FCA North America. “Pacifica is the only minivan to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating for 2017, further solidifying its place as the leader in the segment.”
The body structure of the Pacifica is comprised of more than 70 percent high-strength steel. Nearly 40 percent of that is Advanced High Strength Steel that not only helps it achieve its excellent safety record, but benefits performance as well. All Pacifica models are standard with Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, All-speed Traction Control, four-wheel antilock brakes with Rough Road Detection and Electronic Brake-force distribution, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
Chrysler’s new Pacifica models are all standard with either the Uconnect® 5.0 or Uconnect 8.4 infotainment system with Uconnect Voice Command. Bluetooth® is also standard on all models, allowing you to keep your eyes focused on the road. The Uconnect 8.4 system adds features like Do Not Disturb and Siri® Eyes Free for safer communication while driving.
The Pacifica is also available with some of the most advanced safety features in the industry, including an Advanced SafetyTec Group that adds Forward Collision Warning Plus, Lane Departure Warning Plus, Advanced Brake Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and parking aids including Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist with Stop, ParkSense Front/Rear Park Assist with Stop and a Surround View Camera. No other minivan offers this impressive list of features.
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica (MSRP starting at $28,595) is impressive from every angle, and its IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating proves it’s truly the best in its class. Stop by today with the whole family to find out more about these safety features.
