When it comes to versatility and family friendliness, it’s hard to beat a minivan. But if there is one main complaint, it’s mediocre fuel economy. Chrysler has solved this problem with the new Pacifica Hybrid.
The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is arguably the best minivan in the segment with awards from automotive media and praise from consumers continuing to flow in. To stay ahead of the pack, Chrysler recently released the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the most fuel efficient and first hybrid minivan ever.
“At 84 MPGe, the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid surpasses our initially stated performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, FCA US LLC Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat. “These EPA test results paint a clear picture of the benefits our customers can expect from driving the most fuel-efficient minivan ever.”
The 2017 Pacifica Hybrid has a starting MSRP of $41,995 (before an available federal tax credit of $7,500) and along with its unsurpassed 84 MPGe rating, drivers can expect up to an EPA-estimated driving range of 566 miles, with an electric-only range of 33 miles. Never before has a minivan allowed you to reduce your carbon footprint like the Pacifica Hybrid can. It’s so efficient that it was the first minivan to achieve a 10 rating in the EPA’s Green Vehicle Guide. That score takes both fuel economy and emissions into consideration.
Power is derived from a lithium-ion battery that works in tandem with an upgraded version of the award-winning, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. The third-row Stow ‘n Go seating system remains with the battery pack located underneath the second row floor. Charging can be accomplished in as little as two hours with an available 240-volt charger. With a standard home charger, you can expect a full charge in 14 hours. The battery is backed up by warranty, up to 10-years/150,000-miles depending on location.
With a new vehicle comes new technology and the Pacifica Hybrid uses the innovative eFlite EVT technology that was developed by engineers to keep what customers demand from a minivan, while providing the efficiency hybrids need with the unique dual-motor/one way clutch.
The seven-passenger Pacifica Hybrid still benefits from the same standout technology and safety features that make the gasoline-powered Pacifica so special. A coaching tool guides you to efficient driving with a small green light, and if you drive a bit heavy footed, the lights turn white to remind you to drive a bit more carefully. The Uconnect® system and available mobile app also provide helpful features to maximize the benefits of your Pacifica Hybrid. The Advanced SafetyTec™ Group is also available, adding features like Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, LanseSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Warning.
