Vehicle Profile: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
Innovation in motion

The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is revolutionizing the minivan segment and giving buyers more than they expect at every turn.

The Pacifica is all new for the 2017 model year and it carries the long tradition of Chrysler continuously shaping the minivan segment with 115 innovations over its illustrious history. The newest model features nearly 40 minivan firsts, including a Hybrid model which will offer up to 80 MPGe in city driving.

There are five models - LX, Touring, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited – with an MSRP starting at $28,595.

A family vehicle needs to be safe and the Pacifica is available with over 100 standard and available safety and security features, resulting in a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Pacifica is the first minivan to be available with sensor-fusion technology, with advanced safety features including Forward Collision Warning-Plus and Automatic Emergency Braking. You can also add a Surround View Camera that gives you a 360-degree view and bird’s-eye view that’s especially helpful while parking.

The Pacifica is built on a new platform that helps it achieve class-leading ride and handling and improved Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) levels from the outgoing Town & Country model. The shell of the Pacifica is comprised of over 70 percent high-strength steel that makes it among the stiffest and lightest in the segment.

There are two powertrain engines available for the Pacifica. Gas powered models use the next generation of the Pantastar V6 engine that makes a best-in-class 287 hp and 262 lb/ft of torque, paired to a TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission. Fuel estimates are rated up to 28 mpg highway, a number that’s unsurpassed in the segment. Adding the Trailer Tow Group Package helps you make the most of the best-in-class 3,600 pound towing capacity. Also available is the industry’s first electrified minivan that uses a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery to deliver around 30 miles of fuel-free and zero-emissions travel. In total the Pacifica Hybrid has a combined driving range of around 530 miles. More information will be available on this model in the coming months.

As you’d expect from Chrysler, you get a minivan with attractive sheet metal and a finely crafted interior that shows attention to detail to go along with technology that can’t be matched in the segment. Some of the highlights include the Uconnect® Theater rear seat entertainment system, Uconnect 8.4 infotainment system, 20-speaker Harman Kardon® surround sound system, tri-pane panoramic sunroof, handsfree sliding doors and liftgate, and the Stow ‘n Vac™ integrated vacuum. The Pacifica can seat up to eight people with best-in-class cargo volume, and with the Stow ‘n Go® seating, you can choose from 243 seating configurations. Maximum cargo capacity is rated at 197 cubic feet.  As a testament to its impressive levels of functionality and versatility, the Pacifica make its way onto the first ever Wards 10 Best User Experience List for 2016.

“The Pacifica treats occupants of all ages, especially the young, like royalty,” said Tom Murphy, Senior Editor of WardsAuto. “This vehicle has six USB ports, it understands and correctly processes simple voice commands and it can park itself, both parallel and perpendicular. Phone pairing is near instantaneous, dials are big and some controls are redundant. In the second row, climate controls are easily in reach, and the two huge display screens are loaded with enough games, media and information to keep a bored child from ever asking once again, ‘Are we there yet?,’ no matter how long the road trip. It’s a family-friendly rolling entertainment center.”

Bring in the family and experience why the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacific is a step up over everything else in the segment.
