The role of the minivan is continually evolving to meet the demands of families. Where the goal was once to simply move more people, today’s families want performance, safety, comfort and entertainment in an affordable package. The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica checks every box, and it offers the latest in infotainment options to keep everyone happy.
More information about the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica will be coming over the next few months; this article will focus on entertainment choices, a collection of features that makes the new Pacifica the most technologically equipped vehicle of its kind.
To start, the available Uconnect® 8.4-inch touchscreen display in the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is the largest in the segment. Uconnect® 8.4 and 8.4N systems offer navigation (8.4N), Siri Eyes Free, a Drag and Drop menu bar, and a “Do Not Disturb” feature. You can also view the Vehicle User Guide on the screen, should any questions arise. A Uconnect® 5.0 system is offered, as well.
To help keep rear-seat passengers busy, there’s an all-new, class-exclusive Uconnect® Theater entertainment system with dual 10-inch touchscreens. You can watch movies, connect other devices, or play some of the built-in games like Checkers, Tic-Tac-Toe and Match Flash Cards. There’s also an “Are We There Yet” app passengers can use to see how much longer is left on your journey, making that age-old question a thing of the past. The screens are located on the back of the front headrests, and each screen can show its own content. If someone acts up, parental controls enable you to lock individual screens.
Uconnect® Theater is compatible with virtually all devices and technologies, from smartphones and tablets to Apple TV, Blu-Ray and USB drives. There are also various charging ports conveniently located throughout the Pacifica, so you can charge up wherever you are. The theater system comes with two sets of digital wireless headphones, and it can be controlled via Bluetooth touchpad remote control.
The 2017 Pacifica also offers the Uconnect® Access suite of connected services. You can stay in-touch with the available Wi-Fi hotspot, and, best of all, the service can be added for one day or for the month. Highlights of the system include a vehicle finder, especially helpful in busy parking lots; remote door lock and unlock; remote start; Yelp Search; voice texting; and diagnostics like Vehicle Health Alert and a monthly Vehicle Health Report. The system also allows for connection to emergency providers or roadside assistance, so you have peace of mind wherever you are.
Three premium audio systems are offered, including a 13-speaker Alpine system and a 20-speaker harman/kardon system. A variety of SiriusXM services – including All-Access with more than 150 channels, SiriusXM Traffic, and SiriusXM Travel Link are also standard or available, depending on trim.
