Vehicle Preview: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
A new minivan for a new generation of buyers

Chrysler has stayed at the forefront of the minivan segment for 30 years with constant innovation. Unmatched Chrysler expertise is on full display with the introduction of the 2017 Pacifica, available soon here at Perkins Motors in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The all-new Pacifica brings 37 additional minivan firsts, highlighted by the unsurpassed 80 Miles Per Gallon equivalent (MPGe) city fuel economy of the Pacifica Hybrid, the first hybrid minivan.

“The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is truly a no-compromises minivan, giving customers everything they need or want,” said Timothy Kuniskis, head of Passenger Car Brands for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) - North America. “We started from the ground up to design the most technologically advanced minivan, which offers bold styling, class-leading ride and handling, and unmatched fuel economy, with the Pacifica Hybrid delivering up to 80 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in city driving. The all-new Chrysler Pacifica was thoughtfully designed and engineered to provide unsurpassed levels of comfort, convenience, technology and functionality, making it the perfect combination for modern families.”

There will be more details in the coming months, but here are a few of the highlights:

Engineering: The 2017 Pacifica has an all-new platform and the stiffest, lightest body structure in the segment. The result is class-leading handling and ride and reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels. Every Pacifica comes with Active Noise Cancellation, for even more cabin refinement. The new Pacifica offers the most interior volume in the segment, so whether it’s up to eight-passengers or 8 x 4-foot sheets of plywood, the Pacifica can handle it.

Powertrain: Two powertrain choices are offered – the segment’s first hybrid and a next-generation Pentastar V6 that’s paired with a segment-exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission. The V6 brings 287 and 263 lb/ft of torque, along with unsurpassed non-hybrid fuel economy that will get even better with the engine stop-start (ESS) technology available later in the year. The Pacifica Hybrid has two electric motors, a 16-kilowatt lithium-ion battery and an electrically variable transmission. It will provide up to 30 miles of zero-emissions driving to go with its remarkable fuel efficiency.

Design: The Pacifica design is sculpted and athletic with class-leading aerodynamics. The dramatic new face, with its chrome-trimmed mesh lower fascia, brings styling not previously seen in the minivan segment. Low ground clearance and wheels as large as 20-inches give the Pacifica a strong stance, and the available tri-pane panoramic sunroof makes the Pacifica stand out further. Hybrid models feature unique wheel and grille designs. There are 10 available exterior colors, including a Silver Teal Pearl Coat that’s exclusive to the Hybrid.

Safety: There are more than 100 safety features standard or available in the Pacifica, including a Surround View Camera that provides a 360-degree view around the vehicle. The new body structure uses even more high-strength steel, and five seating positions will accommodate the LATCH child safety seat system, the most in the segment. Other safety highlights include available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Hold, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, and ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist that helps guide you into a parking space.

Technology and Amenities: One of the coolest features in the 2017 Pacifica is the new Uconnect® Theater entertainment system, which enables passengers to play built-in games, watch movies or connect to their personal wireless devices and stream them via two high-definition 10-inch touchscreens. Other standard or available features include a Uconnect® 8.4 infotainment system, a full-color seven-inch driver information display, a 13-speaker Alpine audio system and a phenomenal 20-speaker harman/kardon sound system. The Pacifica also features an available KeySense programmable key fob that can limit or prevent the operation of specific features if certain criteria (like seatbelt buckling) aren’t met.

In addition to loading up the Pacifica with standard or available amenities like revised Stow ‘n Go seating, heated and ventilated front seats and Keyless Enter ‘n Go, Chrysler added exclusive features that include hands-free sliding doors and liftgate that are activated by passing a foot under them. The Pacifica also offers an available RIDGID® Stow ‘n Vac integrated vacuum that’s more powerful and more conveniently located than the competing system, and there’s a new, child-seat-friendly easy-tilt second-row seat that makes entry to the third row even more convenient.

There is much more to discover about the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, so come in today for updates and the latest on availability.
