The Chrysler 300, on sale here at Perkins Motors in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is what full-sized luxury is all about. It has standout design, impressive craftsmanship, advanced technology and exciting rear- and all-wheel drive performance, with a level of sophistication not normally found at its price point. For 2016, the 300 gets even better with improved handling, additional safety and technology features and a new trim that celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Chrysler brand.
The five-passenger 2016 Chrysler 300 (MSRP from $32,015) offers 300 Limited, 300S, 300C and 300C Platinum variants that deliver power, efficiency and segment-leading excellence. In their review, Kelley Blue Book editors said, “If you’re seeking a roomy family sedan that looks and behaves like a high-performance luxury car, the 2016 Chrysler 300 is it. From its elegant interiors to its powerful engine lineup to its impressive handling, the 300 truly stands apart.”
Edmunds reviewers said the new 300 “looks more distinguished inside and out. It now plays better with your gadgets…[it] carries on as before with a classic combination of V6 and V8 power…This big American sedan still manages that rare feat of making you feel like a million bucks, minus the millionaire stress."
Perhaps the biggest news for 2016 is the availability of the 90th Anniversary Edition, which brings even more equipment and value. The Anniversary Edition includes a Uconnect® 8.4 AN infotainment system with navigation, the segment’s largest touchscreen display, Bluetooth and SiriusXM Radio, Traffic and Travel Link. Also standard are a HomeLink universal remote control (for garage doors, electric gates, etc.), a dual-pane sunroof, and “90th Anniversary” logos on the floor mats and the startup splash screen. Additional features include a new SafetyTec Plus group, a new performance-tuned suspension, revisions for the Uconnect system® and a new exterior paint color called Black Forest Green Pearl Coat.
The 2016 Chrysler 300 has 80 standard and available safety and security features, including the SafetyTec 1 group and aforementioned new SafetyTec Plus group. SafetyTec Plus brings advanced technologies like LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Stop, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection and Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking.
Both 2016 300 engine choices provide best-in-class driving range. The 3.6-liter V6 produces up to 300 hp and 264 lb/ft of torque, and it returns a best-in-class 31 mpg highway (EPA estimated). Also available is 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 with a best-in-class 363 hp and 394 lb/ft of torque, again with best-in-class driving range. Both engines are paired with class-exclusive eight-speed TorqueFlite® automatic transmissions. A new performance suspension has increased spring rates and specially tuned steering and bushings. With the V8 engine you get larger sway bars, and 300S trims are available with Goodyear Eagle tires. In the 300 Limited, handling is improved by a standard touring-tuned suspension.
For 2016, the award-winning Uconnect® system incorporates Siri Eyes Free, a Drag and Drop menu bar and a ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature that helps make driving safer. The 300 cabin is also an award-winner, including a WardsAuto “10-Best Interiors” winner. In addition to its standard leather upholstery, heated and power adjustable front seats and standard color, material and trim choices, the 2016 300 offers drivers four unique interior themes, all inspired by American cities, including Manhattan, New York; Detroit, Michigan; La Jolla, California; and Sausalito, California.
