And here in Colorado, there are a ton of these to choose from, giving you lots of opportunities to not only pick up some delicious goods for your next meal but enjoy a fun and unique outing with family or friends. So where to start? Check out these top farmers markets today:
Cherry Creek Farmers Market

On Saturdays through Oct. 31 and on Wednesdays through Sept. 30, Cherry Creek Farmers Market will provide locals with everything from seasonal vegetables to pies, coffee, breads, olive oils, tamales, salsas and more. With so much variety, you just might wind up leaving with enough food to last you the rest of the summer. City Park Esplanade Fresh Market

Held every Sunday through Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., this farmers market offers a quaint atmosphere for visitors to get their fix of not only produce but anything from empanadas to dog treats. It varies from vendor to vendor, but you’ll also be able to find pickling jars, shaved ice, baked goods, coffee, pastas, juices and many organic products. In addition, there’s usually a family-friendly activity going on, such as story time in the park where you can receive an autographed copy of the book. It’s also a much less crowded market than most. Boulder Farmers Market

Every Saturday through November, this expansive farmers market contains a host of local vendors offering produce, plants, crafts and all kinds of food. The largest farmers market in the state, Boulder Farmers Market offers a wide selection of locally grown seasonal produce, eggs, cheeses, meats, herbs, flowers, wines and gourmet food products from in and around Boulder County, most of which are organically or naturally produced. A fine arts and crafts fair with 25 expert artists and artisans will be held one Saturday each month in Central Park for the kids.
