From mythological to romance and everything in between, these books will have you on the edge of your seat, awaiting each and every page and chapter. Add these engrossing novels to your must-read lists.

“Confess” by Colleen Hoover
A romance novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author, open the book to meet Auburn Reed, who is as goal-oriented as they come. When she goes to a Dallas art studio to look for a job, she expects to find, well, a job — certainly not the man who would change her life forever. Lo and behold, Owen Gentry, the mysterious artist at the studio, steals her heart. The problem is that for the first time, as Auburn chooses her heart over everything else (including her life plans), she discovers that Owen is keeping significant secrets from her — that these secrets that involve his past could destroy all things important to Auburn. Leaving Owen may be the only way to get her life back on track, but Owen refuses to lose her. The only thing that can keep their relationship is alive is for Owen to confess — but that could be even more detrimental.

“Red Queen” by Victoria Aveyard
If you enjoyed “Divergent” and “The Hunger Games,” then get ready for a novel you won’t want to put down. The book centers on The Reds, poor, penniless commoners abiding by the rules of the Silvers, privileged warriors who possess god-like powers. One of the Reds, 17-year-old Mare Barrow, thinks that nothing will ever change — until one day while she’s working in the Silver Palace (where the Silvers reside). On this fateful day, she discovers she too has a power — a deadly power — that could change everything and destroy all Silvers’ control. But is the power too dangerous? How will she utilize it? Who ultimately will conquer all?

“A Wicked Thing” by Rhiannon Thomas
Ever ponder a different ending to the classic “Sleeping Beauty”? “A Wicked Thing” reinvents the wheel, starting 100 years after Princess Aurora is awoken by her handsome prince — which certainly doesn’t lead to the typical “happily ever after.” When Aurora awakes, she finds a shattered kingdom that has been awaiting her arrival so that she can save it. However, her family has long since passed away, her “true love” who she’s supposed to marry is a stranger, and while she slept, her whole life has been designed to be executed a specific way. Aurora is worried that she’s been cursed and ultimately has to figure out her next steps for herself: Should she marry the prince or run away?

“All the Rage” by Courtney Summers
Everyone believes that Kellan Turner, the town sheriff’s son, is an angel. But Romy Grey knows something about Kellan that no one else will believe — and the truth has made everyone turn against her, including her friends, family, and the entire community. She’s bullied about being a “liar,” and tirelessly taunted by people who used to be her friends. Suddenly, when a girl who knows both Romy and Kellan disappears after a party and rumors of Kellan assaulting another girl begin to emerge, Romy has to figure out if she’ll fight to get people to believe her or risk other girls getting hurt.

“The Last Time We Say Goodbye” by Cynthia Hand
Main character Lex used to be happy. She had a loving family and boyfriend, and friends who didn’t constantly evaluate her or worry. That was all before her brother, Tyler, committed suicide. While Lex has been trying to hide her grief, she can’t help but be haunted by a secret she has yet to confess: Tyler had sent Lex a text message the night he died that could have completely changed everything. If your preferred subject of reading is about the different views of life and death, letting go, and forgiveness, then this novel is an absolute must-read.
