COMMUNITY VIOLENCE: Causes, Solutions & Hope for the Future
Conference to be Held in NY

The Martha K. Selig Educational Institute of the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services will be hosting an all-day conference, "COMMUNITY VIOLENCE: Causes, Solutions & Hope for the Future," on November 15, 2004 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Times Square, New York.

Keynote speakers:
James Gilligan, M.D. New York University and University of Pennsylvania and Deborah Prothrow-Stith, M.D. Harvard School of Public Health.

The conference is designed for mental health professionals, community advocates, and other interested members of the community. Leading scholars and clinicians in the field will be featured and address prevention, treatment and advocacy related to violence toward communities, groups, and individuals. Areas of focus will include treating the mental health impact of violence, strategies of prevention, and the violence of racism and bigotry.
