What Execs Do with White Papers
Bitpipe and Forbes.com report that over 77% of corporate and IT executives have passed a white paper or case study on to a colleague that they’ve downloaded online. Furthermore, over 68% have been motivated to contact the vendor, reseller or distributor connected to the white papers for more information.

InsightExpress surveyed 316 corporate and IT executives in February 2004 from lists supplied by both Bitpipe and Forbes.com. The survey also found the main reason why managers download white papers and case studies is to stay on top of industry trends, as 76.8% of executives say such documents help them stay on top of new and emerging trends.

Indeed, Outsell found in 2001 that technical papers or white papers were one of the top two information sources used by corporate end-users.
