Since its introduction, the 200 has been the embodiment of possibility for Chrysler: The possibility of value without sacrifice of style, athleticism and luxury without an impossible price tag. The 2012 200 Super S by Mopar expands on the sedan’s possibilities, enhancing it with a full contingent of performance and appearance parts and accessories.

Building off the popular 2012 200S model, Chrysler’s new Super S by Mopar is set to debut and make the auto-show rounds early this year, and roll out to an eager public soon afterward. In conjunction with Mopar, the Chrysler parts and accessories division, the Super S has been retrofitted with high-quality performance and appearance enhancements (known as Stage 1 and Stage 2, respectively) designed to dramatically amplify and customize its distinctive style and output.

Sleek and confident, the handsome style of the 200 caused a stir when the car was released not long ago. Capitalizing on this attention, Mopar started its modifications outside, delivering aggressive, race-inspired attitude to the four-door four-door. In Stage 1, new Hyper Black 18-inch “S” alloys accentuate the powerful base of the 200 and support a body enhanced by new side sills, a pronounced front chin spoiler and a rear trunklid spoiler.

Up front, the gloss-black upper and lower grilles get a mesh filling, along with a surrounding ribbon of chrome. Refined chrome also outlines the vehicle’s foglights, side beltline and rear light bar and a matte-black lower rear diffuser spouts a pair of sporty exhaust openings. Special badges, including a recessed set of Chrysler wings in the grille and a black chrome “200 S” on the sides, adorn the shapely sheet metal.

In Stage 2, Mopar looks to enhance the already celebrated performance of the 2012 200. Starting with the award winning, 283-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (31 mpg), recognized as one of Ward’s “10 Best Engines,” and the six-speed automatic transmission, the Super S adds a handful of appealing modifications designed to squeeze even more out of the capable 200.

Mopar lowered the vehicle’s center of gravity and enhanced responsiveness with a new coil over suspension setup, then gave the sedan a new cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust system. The result is an even more exhilarating and responsive ride that matches the aggressive style of the 200 with a heaping dose of substance.

With three-quarters of a century of experience designing aftermarket parts and accessories for Chrysler vehicles, there’s no better company than Mopar to enhance the popular 200 with manufacturer approved, factory-quality pieces that show off the sedan’s true potential. Modified with a more aggressive appearance and backed with race-ready performance, the new Super S opens up a world of exciting possibilities for the 2012 Chrysler 200.
