Let’s face it; many people hate to read the manual. With that in mind, Kia has created a series of instructional videos designed to help owners get the most out of their new Kia vehicles.

With all the cool features and technology in today’s newest cars, crossovers and SUVs, it can easily become overwhelming trying to figure out how everything works. When you take delivery of a new Kia, the salesperson will sit down in the car with you to provide a lesson on how the major features work, but until you actually live with a vehicle, it’s hard to know what questions to ask, and it’s almost impossible to absorb everything in one sitting.
The owner’s manual is an excellent reference tool that has instructions on all the features of a new Kia, but the reality is that it’s often hard to describe in words, or even static pictures, how something like the Sportmatic shifter for the transmission or the UVO voice control system work.
That’s where the videos come in handy. Kia has created a range of videos that cover topics common to many Kia vehicles like the tire pressure monitor and rear parking assist, as well as those that are specific to certain models like the Optima Hybrid. As you spend time with your new Kia, you’ll find that there are features you want to learn more about. You can go to www.kia.com/ownervideos/ and scroll through the list for the subject you’re interested in and then spend a few minutes to learn all about it.
The hosts describe the system and then walk you through how to use it. For example, the video on the audio system in the Soul describes all its capabilities such as how to play music from an MP3 CD or connect and play a portable device using the available USB port. Other clips show how to use the power seat adjustments in the Optima and configure the second- and third-row seats in the Sorento. Older models have selected videos as well including how to use the rear-seat entertainment system in the Borrego.
If you can’t find a video that answers your question and the manual doesn’t have the solution, the representatives at the Kia Consumer Assistance Center (800-333-4542) can usually help you out, or just swing by the dealership when you have a few minutes.
Kia is committed to providing the best possible ownership experience and wants customers to get the most out of their new rides.
