Mercedes-Benz has long known people have heightened expectations for its vehicles. The 2012 E-Class models amply illustrate that Mercedes-Benz knows what buyers want. With striking design across the board, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class line offers sedan, wagon, coupe and cabriolet body styles, and numerous powertrain choices expand selection even further. No other luxury brand offers all four body styles in this segment.

The five-passenger 2012 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sedan (MSRP starting at $50,490) comes standard in Luxury trim with a three-bar front grille, 17-inch alloy wheels and an emphasis on the famously smooth Mercedes-Benz ride quality. The E350 Sedan receives a power infusion for 2012 with a new, direct-injection 3.5-liter V6. With 302 hp and teamed with a seven-speed automatic transmission, the new engine gives the E350 Sedan even livelier performance than before, yet also delivers an impressive 30 mpg highway fuel economy.

E350 Sedan drivers can also choose the optional Sport Styling Package. More than just giving the car a sporty look with a three-bar grille and exclusive lower-body styling, the Sport Styling Package enhances agility with twin five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, Sport suspension and special brakes.

You can continue to build from there, adding 4MATIC all-wheel drive and choosing from more luxury options and packages. There’s a second E350 sedan, the E350 BlueTEC, which puts an advanced clean-diesel V6 engine under the hood and 400 lb/ft of torque at your command. You’ll really feel that power push you in the back when you accelerate, and you’ll also feel good about the 32 mpg highway fuel economy rating.

For the full sport experience, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E550 4MATIC Sedan packs a 402 hp punch from a new, twin-turbocharged V8. The standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive adds enhanced handling and extra grip, no matter the weather or road condition. Even with this level of performance, the five-passenger E550 4MATIC Sedan still delivers an impressive 26 mpg on the highway. Finally, for the ultimate in performance, the 2012 E63 AMG Sedan raises the twin-turbo power ante to 518 hp and carves up the road with an AMG-tuned suspension.

You can have all of that AMG excitement in the seven-passenger 2012 E63 AMG Wagon as well. The wagon also comes in an E350 4MATIC version (MSRP starting at $57,150). With a rear-facing third-row seat, power tailgate, power sunroof, AIRMATIC self-leveling rear air suspension and a host of premium luxury features, the E350 4MATIC Wagon might be the most serene conveyance for taking the family on a weekend getaway.

Now that you’ve conjured up thoughts of a luxurious weekend retreat, picture yourself arriving in an elegant Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe (MSRP starting at $49,800) or Cabriolet (MSRP starting at $57,720). Both offer the choice of E350 or E550 performance levels. Also in both, a strictly four-seat interior with individual rear seats rekindles the feel of classic European GT models.

The E-Class Cabriolet isn't alone at letting in the sunshine because the E-Class Coupe comes with a standard panoramic sunroof. Remarkable attention to all-season comfort truly sets the 2012 E-Class Cabriolet apart from mere convertibles. The standard AIRCAP system, a Mercedes-Benz exclusive, nearly eliminates interior drafts during top-down driving. Using a small wind deflector that rises from above the windshield and a transparent, power-operated screen between the rear-seat head restraints, the system keeps interior airflow calm and comfortable.

Adding the Premium Package 1 to the E-Class Cabriolet bolsters all-season comfort with the unique AIRSCARF feature, which directs warmed air to the necks and shoulders of driver and front passenger via vents in the head restraints.

The 2012 E-Class models offer cutting-edge Mercedes-Benz safety technology. That includes advanced driver assistance systems, like ATTENTION ASSIST, that can detect driver inattention, alert you to vehicles in the blind spots, help you see pedestrians in the darkness and even apply the brakes if a potential collision is detected. Offering safety and convenience from “the cloud,” so to speak, the standard mbrace™ telematics system includes free trial periods for the Safety & Security Package, navigation, destination planning and other services.

With four body styles and so many other choices, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class beckons you to come in and see, feel and experience the height of luxury in this segment.
