The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, held every year the first week in November, is the place where auto manufacturers go to show off their latest and greatest products, outfitted to the max with the kind of equipment drivers love. This year, Land Rover walked away with two awards for its most popular, recognizable products, adding to a trophy shelf that barely has room for more.

The SEMA Show is where automotive specialty equipment products are on display for the entire world. More than 100,000 industry leaders from over 100 countries around the world attend the event, looking for the trends that will shape the automotive industry for years to come. For the 2011 show, Land Rover walked away with awards for both the LR2 and the Range Rover.

"We are honored to accept these awards from such a prestigious industry association”, said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America. “Both of these vehicles represent Land Rover’s continued dedication to capability without compromising luxury.”

LR2
In a field of strong contenders, the updated 2012 Land Rover LR2 won for “Best Premium Compact SUV.” For the new model year, the LR2 was upgraded with fresh interior and exterior styling, including a new front bumper and two bar grille, giving the LR2 a family resemblance to its bigger brother, the Land Rover LR4.

Three new colors, and new alloy wheels give were an integral part of the LR2’s freshening. On the inside, look for a new range of seat styles and a redesigned instrument cluster, providing drivers and passengers alike a more upscale experience.

Even the iconic Land Rover logo underwent a revision – from gold on green, to an eye-catching bright silver on green.

Range Rover
The line-topping Range Rover achieved the award for “Best Premium Large SUV” at the SEMA show this year. The Range River is the luxury SUV to own, and for 2012 this icon benefits from a number of enhancements. The new Silver Pack, available on the both HSE with Luxury Package and on the Supercharged model, puts a number of popular options in a single group for a significant discount compared to standalone pricing.

The lust-inducing Range Rover Autobiography makes an encore performance for 2012 with a standard Exterior Design Package, which was previously an option, and a new standard Towing Preparation Package, which is optional on all other models.
The balance of the line is equipped with standard HD Radio™, as well as a standard iPod® lead for charging and connecting your iPhone to the Range Rover’s connectivity features.

All this is in addition to a number of revisions for 2012, including updated exterior design details, new paint colors and a number of previously optional features made standard.

An award from SEMA is to cars, trucks and SUVs what a prestigious award is to a major motion picture. It re-establishes Land Rover as the world’s great builder of fine SUVs. Schedule a test drive for one of these great models today and understand what everyone at SEMA was talking about.
