Cube Housing Styles Offer Range
Because encoder application requirements vary greatly, EPC has developed a variety of cube encoder housings. The cube family is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Codes The cube housing style codes indicate different specifications. Let's take a look:
S, S1 Standard 2.25" cube housing with "S1" offering an IP50 felt shaft seal, protecting it against dust. It ranges from 10 lb. to 40 lb axial and radial loading depending on the shaft.
IND12 Industrial 2.25" cube housing includes a thicker wall and an IP65 shaft seal, making it dust-tight and protected from water jets. The axial and radial loading is 30 lb. and 40 lb. respectively.
HD1 3" x 6" heavy duty housing.
HD3 Heavy duty housing with conduit connector and terminal strip.
HD5 Heavy duty housing with 10 mm outer bearing.
HD10 Ultra heavy duty housing designed for use in applications with severe shaft loading conditions, 95 lb radial, 60 lb axial shaft loading, IP65.
HD12 Heavy duty housing, 40 lb radial, 30 lb axial loading with IP65 rated outer shaft seal.
HD14 Heavy duty housing with IP65 rated outer shaft seal, conduit connector and terminal strip.
EX Explosion proof housing, 30 lb radial, 10 lb axial loading, meets NEMA 7 and 9 standards.
