D-Cubed reaches major milestone
Design Simulation Technologies recently signed the 200th commercial license for a D-Cubed component. The count of 200 represents all commercial licenses granted since the founding in 1989 of D-Cubed Ltd., now a business unit of Siemens PLM Software.
We are very proud of this total, particularly given the small size of our niche market and the fact that the majority of such licenses are still very much active, covering most of today’s best known names in CAD, CAM, CAE and PLM. Our flagship products, the Dimensional Constraint Manager (DCM) components, account for more than half the total. They enable geometric constraint solving in many applications, driving sketching, part and assembly modeling capabilities.
More recent components for offset profiles, collision detection, hidden line computation and motion simulation account for the remaining licensees. Upwards of an estimated 3.5 million end-user software seats are currently using one or more of the D-Cubed components.
