Publishing Dimensions Chooses TextCafe
Provides Wholesale Conversion Services

Texterity, Inc., a leading provider of Open eBook conversion services, and Publishing Dimensions, a company providing high-quality conversions for multiple eBook platforms and print-on-demand, today announced the signing of a wholesale eBook conversion agreement. Under the agreement, Publishing Dimensions will use Texterity's TextCafe service to convert customer's titles from PDF format into Open eBook format.

Texterity will provide fully automated conversion of existing PDF files into OEB (Open eBook) format, using a secure file transfer method that integrates directly into Publishing Dimensions' production process. In turn, Publishing Dimensions will use the OEB files as the basis for generating high-quality eBooks for sale in multiple formats, including the Palm Reader.

Kenneth Brooks, Publishing Dimensions' President stated, "Our agreement with Texterity enables us to provide high-volume conversion of materials into the industry standard OEB format. Our organization is able to replace a costly, manual effort with a completely automated step that reduces our cycle time from weeks into hours. Once we have OEB files, we are able to add value and create high-quality eBooks at a fraction of the time."

"We are extremely pleased to work with Ken, who is a pioneer in the eBook industry," said Texterity President Martin Hensel. "His selection of Texterity as a solutions partner affirms our leadership, and further validates our technology-based approach to conversion."

The use of TextCafe by a data conversion company signals a transformation of the largely manual data conversion business. By replacing manual labor with an outsourced, automated solution as the first step in their process, conversion houses can realize higher margins and quicker turnaround. And, by providing its services for wholesale use, Texterity becomes the first and only application service provider for conversion companies that serve the publishing market.

The Publishing Dimensions agreement adds to Texterity's extensive list of customers using Texterity's services. TextCafe is the industry's first fully automated PDF to XML conversion system, and uses expert systems and proprietary recognition processes to deduce and make explicit the structure that is implied by original formatting, allowing direct conversion from PDF to XML and Open eBook format.
