Toyota to Provide a Matching Grant of $2,500, for a Total of $5,000

Lyndhurst, OH – July 25, 2011 – Sunnyside Toyota announces a $2,500 donation to Northern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation (NOHF) at the 21st Annual Matteo Memorial Golf Outing at Acacia Country Club. NOHF will also receive the contribution from Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.

The Ron & Tim Matteo Memorial Golf Outing is held each year to honor the memory of the nephews of a long-term associate of Sunnyside & friend, Dominic Matteo.  Both Ron & Tim were born with hemophilia, a hereditary blood disorder that prohibits normal blood clotting. What is a simple bump or cut to most can cause serious problems for hemophiliacs
until they are treated with the products available to aid in clotting. As was the case with Dominic’s nephew Ron, many hemophiliacs subsequently become immune to blood clotting medicines creating an even more serious situation.

Ron Matteo died in 1988 at the age of 19 and the family then lost Tim Matteo in 1990 at the age of 18.

The children of the NOHF are the recipients of these funds in the form of scholarships, emergency assistance for their families, summer camp & much more. In the twenty years that the Matteo’s have been hosting this event, they have donated over $500,000 to the Foundation. To learn more, please visit http://nohf.org/

“Sunnyside Toyota has been proud to be a part of the North Olmsted community since 1989,” said Mike Cuva, General Manager of Sunnyside Toyota. “Throughout that time, we have supported the community in many ways: American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in North Olmsted, Fairview Park, Westlake, Rocky River, Bay Village, Avon & Avon Lake; Camp Cheerful & Cleveland’s Achievement Centers for Children, as well as the North Olmsted Police Department K-9 Unit and now the Northern Ohio Hemphiliacs Foundation.”

The Toyota Dealer Match Program enables dealer contributions to make a greater impact on the community.  Since 1991, Toyota has contributed more than $500 million to non-profit organizations, and has always been guided by a strong belief in serving the communities where it does business.
