U.S. Communities to Reduce Food Service Costs

Through the U.S. Communities Purchasing Cooperative, cities that serve food at a city hall cafeteria, senior center, meals-on-wheels program, jail, or park concession stand can now leverage the new Food Distribution Services contract to secure quality products and services at the supplier’s most favorable government pricing. Premier, Inc. in conjunction with its food service distributor, U.S. Foodservice offers food service program solutions that provide quality products and services.
 
Benefits of the new contract include: 
  • A 5 – 15 percent savings over traditional procurement practices;
  • Widespread distribution program through U.S. Foodservice;
  • More than 190 active Contracted Manufacturer Agreements driving discounts up to 20 percent on more than 32,000 products;
  • Full complement of foodservice categories (dry, frozen, and refrigerated grocery, center of the plate; dairy/milk; produce, disposables; small wares/equipment, and chemicals; and
  • Web-based management tools allowing real time visibility to product details, pricing and recipes.
