Why Squareballs?
Award Winning Screenplays
by Steve Kayser
This E-Pitch is to introduce you to award-winning screenplays by a geometrically challenged, kilt-wearing, mechanical bull-riding screenwriter in Cincinnati.

And, as most people know...
Cincinnati is the Mecca of Screenwriting
However, even in the great screenwriting city of Cincinnati I found that the noise -– the constant barrage of pitches to folks like you, who should be looking for stories that make you laugh, cry, think, hope, (like mine) -- was drowning me out.
Takes Decisive Action
So, I had to take some decisive action to connect you -- with me. And, Walla, here we are.
What’s the Deal?
How about quick, concise and simple?
Each screenplay is described with a logline, one-page synopsis and contact information (and yes, I do have an agent, however she is in the most distant land of Oz… California).
Why the Graphics?
I like pictures.
Any Writing Successes?
Squareballs (A.K.A. Steve) has won Screenwriting Awards from the;
- Nicholl Screenwriting Competition
- Writer’s Digest Screenwriting Competition
- Project Greenlight Screenwriting Competition.
That’s it?
Well… let me think.
Oh, yes, Steve is Editor and Publisher of a B2B E-Zine called Expert Access which has been featured in a best practices case study for MarketingSherpa. The Economist, Harvard Business School Working Knowledge and Entrepreneur.com, have all named MarketingSherpa as one of the Best Internet Marketing Publications
And – Steve was also selected as a Purple Cow by Seth Godin, contributing Editor for Fastcompany magazine for his “Shoot the Donkey!” articles.
The"Shoot the Donkey" interview series focuses on remarkable people who take decisive action to fulfill their mission - whatever it is, in life or business. It also combines a bit of irreverent wit, appalling lack of subject matter knowledge, and little or no decorum from a kilt-wearing mechanical bull-riding writer's perspective.
Hey! Not all of these screenplays are written by you.
That's very perceptive of you. What gave it away? The name? WHILE GOD WAS SLEEPING was written by an amazing individual named John Tuft, President of StoryGuide. It's a love story set amidst the Rwandan massacre in 1994. I included it because it's a great story and John's a friend of mine. However, I would have titled it "WHAT WAS GOD THINKING?" (when he created humans)
Anything in it for me?
Well. I would hope some commercially butt-kicking stories with heart, soul, tears, laughs, joy, inspiration, etc., etc., would be enough.
Should be, shouldn’t it?
I’d never stoop to bribery.
However…
It is fairly difficult getting the proper amount of respect and consideration for my screenplays when wearing a kilt, cowboy hat and living in Cincinnati.
So, if you fill out my survey I’ll enter you in a drawing to win 20 Cincinnati cheese coneys with extra cheese, onions, mustard, peanut butter, mayonnaise and jalapeno peppers.
