On Saturday, June 14, 2003, we observe the 50th anniversary of the opening of Sagamore by the TRA on that date in 1953. There will be a program at 2 PM. There will be a band, and speakers will be Dr. Libby O' Connell, the head historian of the History Channel, and myself. I prepared the material below at the request of the National Park Service for inclusion in the program.
