Effective August 1, 2009, The Lewer Agency added 24/7 nurse support to its LewerMark menu of programs and services. The new service provides LewerMark students with around-the-clock access to a “live” nurse who is trained to answer their health questions.
The service is provided through CoreSource, a subsidiary of Trustmark Mutual Holding Company. The Lewer Agency formed a partnership with Trustmark last spring when Trustmark became an additional underwriter of the LewerMark student insurance programs.
By calling a toll-free telephone number, students enrolled in the LewerMark plan can now reach a friendly, registered nurse anytime during the day or night. The nurse support line is their first resource for immediate clinical guidance on everyday health issues.
Regardless of language preference, students will be able to find help through the new service. Advice is available in English, Spanish, and nearly 150 other languages.
“I am particularly excited about MyNurse 24/7 because the service will reduce unnecessary, and costly, visits to the emergency room,” reported Jeff Crawford. “We look forward to the help line improving student health as emerging conditions can be identified before becoming acute medical events.”
