Annual CFS Instructor Conference: October 21-25, 2009.
This year's Instructor Conference is being hosted by Blacksheep Training in Farmington, New Mexico

We are proud to announce that the Second Annual Combat Focus™ Shooting Instructor Conference is being hosted by Blacksheep Tatical Training in Farmington, New Mexico this October. Last year’s conference was a huge success and we are expecting even more from the 2009 event! The dates for this year’s conference are October 21-25th, 2009.

The conference is designed to bring Certified Combat Focus Instructors and those interested in becoming certified together to discuss program updates, their own experiences and exchange ideas about intuitive and efficient defensive firearms training. In addition, currently certified CFS Instructors have the opportunity to become certified to teach other I.C.E. Training programs, such as Combat Focus Carbine and Advanced Pistol Handling.

Last year’s conference, hosted in Houston by 360 Tactical Training, brought dozens of students and instructors together for both professional development and end user training. This year’s event will be very similar. We are expecting attendees from around the US and some of our affiliates abroad attending to engage in a variety of activities. The schedule of events includes some Instructor Only sessions beginning on October 21st and End User courses beginning on the 22nd. End user courses will feature a unique opportunity to learn from a number of CFS Instructors at once in a dynamic team teaching environment. CFS Instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, including military special operations, law enforcement professionals, competitive shooters and even hobbyists who have become certified to enhance their own knowledge and ability to share concepts with others. Having a diverse instructor corps helps CFS to maintain its progressive nature and learning from several instructors at once means that students are sure to get insights and suggestions specific to their context.

In addition to the opportunity to train in Combat Focus Shooting, Advanced Pistol Handling and Combat Focus Carbine, non-instructor attendees will be invited to participate in several team building and after-hours sessions with the instructors. Those interested in becoming certified will also enjoy the unique opportunity to get to know the team and learn from them what they have experienced as instructors and throughout the process of becoming certified.

Blacksheep Tactical Training is owned and operated by Kent O’Donnel. Kent has been a certified CFS Instructor for several years and began training and teaching with Rob Pincus in 2004. Kent has taught CFS Programs to hundreds of students at the regional law enforcement academy in Farmington. Kent’s experience in law enforcement and the United States Marine Corps have led him to believe that CFS is the most appropriate defensive firearms training methodology available. When he offered to host the conference at his outstanding training facility, Rob Pincus immediately took him up on it. “I’ve taught with Kent for a number of years and had the opportunity to teach at his facility three times,” said Pincus,  “Kent is a passionate professional and Safety City is a great place to train. I am really looking forward to this year’s conference!”
