It features Motion's innovative slate design and sports the same industry-leading 12.1-inch display as Motion's popular 866MHz M1200 offering. Both models are Wi-Fi enabled and can be configured with up to 1GB of memory and disk drive capacities up to 60GB. Both models can use the same accessories.
The 933MHz M1200 is priced from $1,999.
M1300 with Intel Centrino mobile technology featuring an Intel Pentium M 900 MHz ULV processor
On the horizon (shipping in late May) is a new model, the M1300. This is the first slate style Tablet PC based on Intel’s new Centrino mobile techology. The M1300 features a Intel Pentium M 900 MHz ULV (ultra low voltage) processor. The new model offers USB 2.0 (the M1200 has USB 1.0). Pricing for the M1300 is expected to be about $200 more than the M1200… final pricing will be announced in mid-May. Please contact the InfoCater sales department if you would like to be placed on the waiting list and have final pricing sent to you.
Motion cites a performance boost of about 33 percent over the 866 MHz Pentium III-M chip and about 25 percent over the 933 MHz Pentium III-M chip. Although at first glance you would think that the newer Pentium M has a slightly lower clock speed. However it offers higher performance than the 933 MHz Pentium III-M. The increase in performance comes from the design of the newer Intel Centrino mobile technology, which includes features such as a relatively large 1MB cache. The cache is used to store a pool of often-used data close to the processor core. Final performance tests will be released at the product's launch.
Intel Centrino mobile technology refers to the total architechure. This must be comprised of the Intel Pentium M processor, the Intel 855 chipset, and the Intel PRO/Wireless card with 802.11b.
Additionally one of the great benefits of the M1300 is that the accessories are the same as the M1200. This includs batteries, flexdock, power accessories, and other accessories...really everything but the faster DDR RAM. This means that customers who have purchased the M1200 can leverage their accessories into the M1300. Motion is very focused on making sure that our customers investments into Motion products are protected.
The Motion tablets are ideal for health care, field sales, government, educational and corporate customers.
