IDC named Edwardsville, Illinois attorney Patrick W. Stufflebeam as the IDC 2009 Rising Star.

Mr. Stufflebeam received the award at the association’s annual meeting in Chicago.  A litigation attorney with the Madison County office of HeplerBroom LLC, Mr. Stufflebeam  concentrates his practice in the defense of toxic tort cases.

An active member of the IDC’s Young Lawyers Division, Mr. Stufflebeam has worked tirelessly behind the scenes on behalf of the IDC in planning and executing multiple IDC Fall Conferences.  2010 Second Vice President Howard Jump commented, “It can sometimes be difficult for our young lawyers downstate to get the recognition they deserve from the organization as a whole and Patrick was very, very deserving of recognition this year as our latest Rising Star.  The chairs and members of the committees that plan our events do not get enough credit for what they do.  The meetings, the phone calls, the emails, the problems, the no shows, the late materials, the panics...all handled and ironed out with the result being another successful IDC program.  It takes great leadership to make these things happen.”

Mr. Jump said, “Patrick and last year's recipient, Jennifer B. Groszek, embody the spirit of IDC's Young Lawyers, who remain the most engaged and vibrant of our members. Patrick and Jennifer are only the first two in what will prove to be an entire constellation of Rising Stars within this organization.”
