The Export-Import Bank of the United States will establish a North Texas presence by relocating a Business Development Officer, Kelly Kemp, to Dallas this year.
The Chamber will provide Mr. Kemp with meeting space to foster North Texas exports.
Texas has ranked as the leading exporting state for six consecutive years. Texas exports last year totaled nearly $168.2 billion. Total global trade with DFW reached nearly $57.5 billion.
Announcement of the North Texas Ex-Im representation was made formally at the Annual City/State Partners meeting at Ex-Im Bank in Washington D.C. Greater Dallas Chamber staff attended the partners meeting and the 2008 Ex-Im Annual Conference in April.
The conference featured an address by U.S. Trade Representative Susan C. Schwab and panel sessions on global infrastructure development opportunities, including the global cleantech market, opportunities in India, Africa’s electricity needs, and financing exports to the Middle East.
