Social Media helps Volvo Communicate with Fans

Connect, share and join the discussion as part of the Volvo social community on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Upload your favorite Volvo photos and get up-to-the-minute news, updates and so much more when you “Like” Volvo on Facebook, follow Volvo on Twitter or subscribe to the Volvo YouTube channel.

Join thousands of Volvo fans on the Volvo Cars U.S. Facebook page (www.facebook.com/VolvocarsUS) and discuss everything from the latest innovations to your fondest Volvo memories. You can even participate in exciting promotions like a recent Oasis Contest that asked fans to post a photo of their own personal “oasis,” otherwise known as the interior of their Volvo. The fan who posted the most popular photo won a five-day vacation for two to Rio de Janeiro including a two-night stay at a private beach house.

Speaking of contests, Volvo also recently ran a successful contest on its Overseas Delivery Facebook page (www.facebook.com/VolvoOverseasDelivery). Fans who had participated in the Overseas Delivery Program (OSD) were asked to share their best photo from the experience abroad. The fan who submitted the photo that earned the most votes earned a Volvo gift bag and a voucher for two additional nights in Sweden on a future OSD voyage. The lucky fan also got to have their photo become the new profile picture for the page.

Fans can also follow Volvo on Twitter (@VolvoCars_US) and talk to other Volvo buffs, check out photos, share links and get all the latest information. The Volvo Twitter page was recently used to hold a raffle, in partnership with the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. One lucky supporter of the cause took home a brand new Volvo XC60.

The YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/volvocarsus) is filled with all the latest and greatest Volvo videos including vehicle overviews, commercials, events and behind-the-scenes exclusives. A recent piece depicts the unveiling of the XC60 Plug-In Hybrid Concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. John Maloney, CEO of Volvo Cars U.S., and Stefan Jacoby, CEO of Volvo Car Corporation, discuss the nuances of the impressive new vehicle.
