The J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study is held each year to rank owner satisfaction with vehicle design, content, layout and performance. This year’s 16th annual survey resulted in an overwhelming achievement for Hyundai, as the 2011 Equus earned the award for “Highest Ranked Vehicle Appeal among Large Premium Cars”.
With more than 900 points on the 1,000 point APEAL scale, the Equus was named the most appealing large premium car, beating out several other luxury sedans. The Equus was evaluated for vehicle exterior, storage, audio, entertainment and navigation categories, among other things.
It’s not only the Equus’ 2011 APEAL award, however, that has Hyundai earning headlines around the world.
Frank Ferrara, executive vice president of Hyundai Customer Satisfaction, notes the company’s excitement over the APEAL results: “We are thrilled with the recognition of Equus in this year’s J.D. Power and Associates APEAL study. With the success of our Equus flagship and the unique appeal of our dynamically designed and fuel-efficient Elantra and Sonata, we’re continuing our quest to satisfy all types of American car buyers.”
