Thank You For Making Our Blood Drive a Success

 March is Red Cross Month.

            Thanks to generous support from across the United States, the American Red Cross is able to respond to disasters both large and small, help members of the military, veterans and their families, teach lifesaving skills and provide blood for those in need. Approximately every two seconds, a patient in the United States needs blood. Blood and platelets can be used for accident victims, people undergoing surgery, premature babies, cancer patients and those with chronic illnesses. We encouraged blood donors to donate during Red Cross Month right here at the dealership to help ensure every patient has the blood and platelets he or she needs, no matter when or where they are needed. All blood types needed to help maintain a sufficient supply. Eligible donors with O positive and negative, B negative and A negative blood types are especially encouraged to make appointments now. Blood is a perishable product. Red blood cells have a shelf life of only 42 days and platelets just 5 days, so they must be replenished constantly – there simply is no substitute. Recently a hospital served by the Mid-America Blood Services Division needed 96 blood products in a single day to treat trauma victims from a fire. Thanks to dedicated Red Cross donors, the products were available for the patients.

Our blood drive was held on Saturday March 17th in honor of our Longtime Sales Consultant Paul Roth , and we were proud to support the Red Cross and help fulfill the mission of supplying blood where it was needed in our area!
